OneRoster is an industry standard format for exchange of student information from a Student Information System (SIS) to another program, like an LMS (or Xello!).
On the Roster Server under the Applications Menu, there are options to add vendor applications and set up how the data will transfer. In this section, there is an option for Key / Secret to provide to your Onboarding Manager (OM).
To set up an API integration, your OM will need the following:
- The OneRoster URL
- The API Key
- The API Secret
With the above information, your OM will complete the set up and be able to pull in student information to populate the student list.
Adding district leadership and admin
To add district leaders and admin staff, make sure to include them in the rules before sharing the data with your OM.
Post-setup
Please be aware that if your school or district will be using the Course Planner feature, we will still need to receive student course files as a CSV or TXT file via SFTP. To learn how, check out Create course data files.
